EDIT: I've been unable, until today, to provide an image of Adrien. I really haven't been able to describe him physically- not one of my strong points. But today as I was picking a movie to watch before bed, (as I now have loads of extra time), I decided to watch Anastasia. I had discussed the movie earlier with a friend who promised to burn me a CD.

So I turned on the movie, and there he was- Adrien!

I didn't intend to model Adrien after Dmitri, but somehow, the time frame matched up and they look the same, down to the haircut. I found this really amusing as I actually based him off of someone I know in real life, so I'm looking forward to passing on my finding to him. I'm sure he'll think I'm crazy, but it made me laugh.

So that's the exciting news of the day. Also, I intend to cut down my computer usage as the screen has been giving me migraines lately, so I wish you all an early happy Christmas and New Years if I don't get back on in the next month!

So I'm done with the craziest month of my life. I finished NaNo WriMo at 50,224 words with 45 minutes to spare. The title of my work is Learning to Speak and I'll be taking advantage of *Ameko-Shadowsong's mad editing skills to edit the completed work (Yes, I have another 10K to go before I feel satisfied) and four short stories from the same universe, which I plan to compile together and have published by CreateSpace for free using my code I will soon receive from NaNo's site.

So here it is: Learning to Speak, abridged.

My main characters are Adrien Marevka and Lola. Lola is a feral child, a girl who was locked away for 13 years and never learned to speak. Adrien is the Hunter- think SWAT- who tracked her down and took her into his care. When he finds out that Lola was part of a top-secret government project called the Herodotus Trial, he takes Lola on the run rather than return her, and the two get into shenanigans in hotels (I mean, they have fights that happen to be in hotels. They do not shenanigize TOGETHER in hotels.) (Just thought I'd clarify.) And then as they make plans to skip out on town, they're captured.

Oh no!

Adrien is tortured into revealing that he knows about the Herodotus Trial and taken to be executed by a firing squad. But after he receives his last rites, the door is thrown open and there she is in all her magnificent splendor, her majesty, the King. (And her trusty side-kick, Georgino "Gino" Bianchi, the Chief Medical Officer.) Unfortunately, the King frightened a soldier when she came in and Adrien's hand was shot. Gino frantically staunches the blood flow as the King explains that there has been a coup by the Secretary of the Interior, Chandler. And she insists Adrien accompany her to kill him.

At first, Adrien is hesitant. He doesn't trust the King and she wants to leave Lola with a group of civilians. Gino volunteers to look after the girl and convinces Adrien to go with. So he gets to pick a team and they go Secretary-hunting! They find him, but then Lola storms in with Gino. Chandler tells Adrien that he's Lola's father- gasp! Didn't see that one coming, did you? So Lola attacks him. Unfortunately, he has a gun and shoots Lola. Adrien pulls out his gun, but is unable to shoot. After a minute of being taunted, he has almost decided to do it when the King walks in and shoots Chandler.

But Lola is almost dead. She goes into shock, et cetera, et cetera (insert medical terms here) and Gino has to save her life. Everyone packs up and goes to the hospital. The King and Adrien and Gino become best buddies. Adrien head the investigation of the Herodotus Trial, and then resigns. He takes Lola to be baptized, but of course, the King decides this isn't acceptable. She crashes the party and tries to convince Adrien not to resign. But he has made up his mind- he's taking Lola and they're moving to the countryside. She gives in and gives them a nice house out there. Too bad the countryside is all screwed up with radiation. Oh, well. They all live happily ever after.

(Except for the King who gets kicked out of office and replaced with a democracy, and Gino, who gets in trouble for illegal medical practices and marrying a priestess, and Cailee, Adrien's sister who grows up traumatized because the government threw her in jail as well.)

So in addition to that, I apparently found the love of my life, did well in calculus, got a new phone- my father broke my old one. PS, Kit, I need your number! And also read some Jack Kerouac, saw New Moon, and, in general, was happy.

That's the summary of the month of November. Overall, 11/10.
